Patternmaking Tutorial : How to draw a tailor Sleeve
Tailor sleeve : part one
The method I used is a combination of different methods (as usual).
I start with a standard sleeve. (explained in a earlier post there)
start. sleeve and elbow and bend lines
isolate the underarm sides
mirror the two sides along the line
upper sleeve and under sleeve (hatche)
horizontal elbow line
pivot the forearm
pivot more or less according to the wrist measurment
remove extra and curve the seam lines
done
We can leave it that way or continue the development
Tailor sleeve part 2
We now are going to widen the upper sleeve and made the under sleeve narrower. The seam will be brought towards the underarm.
Here is the sleeve step 1 and developed to step 2
LEFT : upper and under sleeve equal RIGHT : upper wider than under sleeve
LEFT : upper and under sleeve equal RIGHT : upper wider than under sleeve
