Patternmaking Tutorial : How to draw a puff Sleeve
To understand the construction of a puff sleeve, I will illustrate that tutorial with 3 variations :
- Sleeve puff at the crown level
- Sleeve puff at the biceps level
- Sleeve puff at the elbow level
In the three casses, the method is the same.
I start with a standard sleeve. (explained in a earlier post there)

refine cutting lines
pivot to lift the crown
re pivot
lift the upper part
4 pieces of the crown
what has been added is in black

define cutting lines
pivot to spread the sleeves
pivot again to make a better curve
lift to add more volume for gathers
Value added is in black

Define the cutting lines
spead the four piece by pivotting
lift the upper part and redraw the lines
